One-Liner is a program that serves two related functions: randomizing email signatures and presenting quotes, jokes, or inspirational sayings during your Windows session. How are these functions related? They both need a collection of "One-Liners" to operate from, and a program to manage their use.

One-Liner provides a single repository you can use to collect and maintain jokes, quotations, zingers, ASCII art, inspirational messages, HTML snippets, or anything else that's composed of ASCII text. One-Liner uses an intuitive single window interface to manage the categories and entries you create, as shown below:

One-Liner does not rely on specific files or data exchange methods for its signature mode. For this reason, it is fully compatible with all email programs available on the Windows platform. As an example of how the signature mode works, once you have entered your email message using your favorite program, press the One-Liner hotkey combination (default Ctrl-Shift-L) to bring up the "clipboard copy" dialog box:

One-Liner Copy Window

The left side of this dialog contains your categories, the right side contains your generated signature, with the One-Liner text portion of the signature randomized from the items in the checked categories. If you would like to randomize from more or fewer categories, check or uncheck the category boxes as desired. If you would like a different One-Liner than the one presented in the dialog, press "Generate Another" and a new signature will be generated and displayed in the preview window. Once you are satisfied, press OK and One-Liner will place the generated signature on the Windows clipboard, and attempt to paste the signature directly into your email program. In most cases, the signature will then be part of your email text and you can simply press "send". If the signature doesn't appear, just select Edit, Paste and the signature will be inserted.

The pop-up portion of One-Liner is even simpler to use. In the Pop-Up Mode preferences, specify which categories to randomize from, how often to generate a pop-up, and you're ready to go! At program startup, and/or at intervals you have specified, you will receive a dialog box containing a randomly generated piece of text from your selected categories. If the option is enabled, the dialog box will also contain a countdown timer which will automatically close the dialog in the event you are away from your computer. Finally, you can specify where on the screen you wish the pop-up dialog boxes to appear. Below is an example of a pop-up dialog box:
